Mission
Northridge Prep provides an excellent college preparatory education that allows each student to reach his academic, spiritual, moral and social potential. Guided by the teachings of the Catholic Church and the spirit of Opus Dei, Northridge aims to develop spiritually mature men who are selfless family members, productive professionals, responsible citizens, and contributors to the common good.
History
In 1976 a group of dedicated parents came together to embark upon a most noble and audacious endeavor – that of starting a school. Integral to this vision was an environment that would not only challenge their sons academically, but would also provide for them the necessary tools, experiences, and role models to become men of faith, men of character, and men of virtue. These parents wanted a school that would combine academic excellence, personal attention to each student, and sound moral formation with a very close working relationship between parents and faculty. As fathers and mothers, they realized how important the years between 11 and 18 are for a boy; the education he receives, the friends he makes, and the outlook he acquires from people he respects all work together to provide the ideals and values which must guide him for the rest of his life. Helping a boy to form these ideals, and then grow into them, is the purpose and mission of Northridge Prep.
More than three decades later, Northridge Prep proudly boasts a rich history of successful alumni, accomplished athletics, burgeoning theatre and music programs, and national recognition of its academic achievements. The common thread that weaves these impressive accolades together is a committed group of faculty, men who understand the challenges young boys face on their own journey into manhood.
