Step One: Application for Admission
Below you will find a link to our official application for admission to Northridge Prep. Please complete this application in its entirety, and submit it to the school along with:
- A copy of your son’s most recent standardized test scores
- A copy of your son’s most recent report cards, for both the current and prior year
- The applicant’s two personal statements (the prompts for which are contained in the Application for Admission)
- A $100 application processing fee (make checks payable to Northridge Prep)
In addition to the above components, the school also requires a Letter of Recommendation for the applicant. This form can be found in the Application for Admission, and must be completed by a teacher or administrator at the applicant’s current school. This teacher or administrator must then submit the form directly to Northridge Prep. Instructions for this can be found directly on the Letter of Recommendation form.
Please note that an application package will be considered incomplete until all required documentation has been submitted. Incomplete application packages are ineligible for review by the admissions committee until completed.

Step Two: School Visit and Interview
Once you’ve compiled and submitted a completed application, the next step is for both you and your son to come to Northridge for a visit and an interview. During this visit, you and your son will meet with the Director of Admissions, take a tour of the school, and complete an interview with the Headmaster. If you are unable to visit Northridge in person, a telephone call must be scheduled to satisfy the interview component of the application process. However, a personal visit to the school is strongly encouraged.
In order to schedule a visit and interview, contact our Director of Admissions, Jack Conroy, either by phone at 847.375.0600, ext. 112, or by email at jconroy@northridgeprep.org.
Step Three: Application Review
Following your visit and interview at the school, the Admissions Committee will meet to review your son’s file. Please allow two weeks to receive a decision regarding your son’s admission to Northridge Prep.
Step Four: Enrollment Contract
If your son is granted admission to Northridge Prep, an enrollment contract will be mailed to your home. The contract must be completed and returned with the $500 non-refundable deposit within 14 days to secure his place in next year’s class.
Step Five: Host Family
A host family plays an integral role in the Northridge Prep exchange student experience. Each family is carefully selected to ensure that the home environment mirrors the values emphasized here at the school. In addition, the Admissions Committee strives to take into account your son’s age and interests when matching him with a family.
Once a host family has been assigned, the Director of Admissions will place the two families in contact with one another to facilitate your son’s transition to the Northridge Prep community. These arrangements typically are made by May 1.
