Q: Where is Northridge located?  

A: Northridge Prep is located in at 8320 Ballard Road in Niles, Illinois, a northwest suburb of Chicago. The school.is just south of Dempster Avenue and just west of Milwaukee Avenue. It is a short drive west from the Dempster exit of the Edens Expressway, I-94 and just east of the 294 tollway.


Q: Does Northridge offer transportation assistance?  

A: Yes. We offer shuttle service from the Metra stations in Kenilworth, Glenview, & Des Plaines. This service is available for a low fee.


Q: Is there a dress code for a Northridge student?  

A: Yes: Dress Khaki pants, blue or white dress shirts, dress shoes, tie. From October 1 until May 1 students must also wear a blue blazer.


Q: Is there any Financial Aid?   

A: Yes. Subject to availability of funds, Northridge offers up to 50% of tuition costs in need based scholarships. About 30% of our students receive some financial aid. We also have close relationships with the Daniel Murphy Scholarship Foundation and The HFS Scholar Program.
 

Q: What is the average class size?  

A: Our classes range in size from 15-24 students.

A: 10:1
 

Q: Do you offer AP courses?

A: Yes. All of our students take AP classes beginning in their sophomore year. Students have the opportunity to take as many as 10 AP courses before they graduate.
 

Q: What is Opus Dei's involvement with Northridge Prep? 

A: Opus Dei, a personal prelature of the Catholic Church, ensures that Northridge stays true to the teachings of the Catholic Church. In addition, Opus Dei provides the school with our chaplain, who administers the sacraments on a daily basis.
 

Q: What is the background of your faculty?

A. Our faculty is our greatest asset. They are masters of their academic fields, who love what they teach. Over 70% of the faculty have advanced degrees and 20% have a PhD. The Northridge faculty also teaches their students about faith, family and scholarship. They serve as mentors and role models to students. The school’s small size allows close relationships to develop among students and teachers that frequently last long beyond graduation.
 

Q: What are we looking for in prospective students? 

A: Prospective Northridge students should be hard working, capable young men. Their parents should value a challenging academic curriculum in a personal setting and be prepared to work with the faculty to help their sons grow intellectually, emotionally and morally during their important teenage years. At Northridge, we admit the average and above-average students and help them reach their potential.


Q: How many students attend Northridge?

A: We have about 315 students between the middle school and high school.
