The music program at Northridge Prep consists of a general music class that is offered to all middle school students for one quarter of the year, and semester long music appreciation class which is required of all 9th grade students. In addition, Northridge offers Band (beginning and advanced) for all interested students in grades 6-12. Band group lessons meet during the school day on a rotating basis, with large group rehearsals before school or during other non-academic time. Students utilize the SmartMusic interactive computer software to enhance home practice. Northridge bands perform at various times throughout the school year. A small stock (mostly larger) of instruments is available for student use.
